How to Get Rid of Plovers

Aug 7, 2009 11:42 PM

Is it hard for you to go outside into your own backyard, because of the fear of being swooped by Plovers? Well, here's the solution (without harming the birds):

Get a pair of gloves , and a washing basket.

Go outside , with the washing basket over you head, and the gloves firmly on your hands.

Locate their nest (on the ground somewhere).

Slowly approach the nest , taking care not to make any sudden movements.

Pick up the eggs , and move them to a safe place away from your backyard, making sure the Plovers see where you take the eggs.

Tips

  • The Plovers will very likely swoop you, but do not be afraid as the washing basket will protect you.

Warnings

  • Make sure you do not harm the Plovers as they are a protected species and there is a fine.
  • Make sure you wear a washing basket as they have sharp talons that can cause great harm.
