How to Go from Lazy Slob to Clean Freak

Aug 29, 2009 01:30 AM

Laziness is never a good quality to have. However, being extra clean is a great trait to own! For some suggestions on this topic, please continue reading.

Create a list of ways you are being lazy

This is the key to realizing what you are doing wrong in your lifestyle. If you are having troubles thinking of things to put on your list, consider asking yourself some of the following questions: Is my house an utter mess? Does my appearance reflect that I am a slob?

Take action on the problem

Start off by fixing the minor problems you wrote on your list. Save the bigger areas you need to work on for last. Cross items off of the list as you continue to fix them.

Clean your house

A great way to begin your clean lifestyle is to have a nice house. Don't clean it all in one day if it is a total disaster! You may want to set goals for yourself, such as to clean one room a day. Buy some items at a store that will help you with this, such as dust wipes, disinfectant spray, a broom, a mop, a vacuum, etc. If you have any family members, ask them to help you out with the task of cleaning. This will make the process go by much faster.

Get into shape

Your body is an extremely important thing you need to take care of. Drink at least eight cups of water a day, and exercise for 30 minutes. Get a friend or family member to run around the block with you to make it more fun. Try out some sports if you would like, and don't give up!

Give yourself a makeover

If you are always finding yourself wearing the same old clothes every day, maybe it's time to try something new. Buy some new clothes for yourself that compliment your body and look professional. They don't have to cost a lot of money to look nice, but don't always buy the cheapest thing you can find that fits, either. Take a friend who has some sense of style with you while shopping so you can get advice on how the piece of clothing looks on you. Also, try to get some make-up if you don't enjoy your facial features. However, remember that a little goes a long way!

Realize the importance of always looking your best

You should never go out in public dressed like a slob, even if you think no one will see you! Chances are you will probably see someone you know, and wish you would've put on something else. Think about if your boss were to see you out in some stretched-out shirt with chocolate stains on it- not very professional, right? Or, if you're a little younger, think about what your crush would think of you if you wore that shirt. The point is that people do judge you by how you look, even though they shouldn't.

Tips

  • Don't change it all in one day! Change your lifestyle gradually until you are satisfied with who you are.

Warnings

  • Too much change in your body may be unhealthy. Go slowly and things will take shape and start to work out.
