Do you hate cleaning your room? Does it take you about an hour and a half just to get motivated to start? Well this article will tell you how to get motivated and clean your room quickly, while having fun.

Set up a trash bag as a basketball hoop . throw all papers away and if you find pieces to a game, chuck those too. Unless you know what game they go to. If you don't, the game is not important enough.

Pretend it is a race against the clock . Give yourself a half hour or else the clock wins, and no one likes losing to a thing that doesn't have a brain.

Try turning on the radio or singing . Most of the time this is very helpful in getting you in the mood to clean.

Focus on one certain area at a time . This will help you start cleaning your room. Don't look at it as the big picture because you will get discouraged.

Don't take a break , this just leads to procrastination.

Set a goal that you want to do once you get out of your room. This will help you clean faster. Make sure you really want to do this goal, though.

Don't worry, be happy . These are the words to live by while you are cleaning and throughout your life.

Don't put anything under your bed , no matter what. Parents will most likely look under the bed, and in your closet as well. In other words, actually clean your room, don't just shove trash and junk in places that seem convenient just to get it over with.

Tips

  • Make sure your guardian isn't going to check under the bed/closet/dresser. Do not ask them about where they will look, for it will be a dead give away, try to learn from previous experiences.
  • Never turn on the TV, because this will surely distract you from cleaning.
  • Don't get to occupied in the music, this will just slow you down even more.
  • Don't get discouraged if it is a big mess, it most likely won't be when you think about it in sections.
  • Be creative with how to make it fun, create your own games.
  • Don't spend an hour creating and playing the game.
  • If you have issues with invisible boundaries for separating the mess into sections, then make visible boundaries by somehow putting visible lines to mark of sections. NOTE: lines must not be permanent, and shouldn't add to the mess. this will just make more cleaning necesarry.

Warnings

  • Don't crawl under your bed, you might get hurt on sharp objects.
  • Under the bed it will catch on fire, which means it is a fire hazard.
  • Don't hide anything in crawl spaces, under your bed, or in your closet.
  • If you get distracted, get right back on task.
  • NO TV!!!
