How to Survive a Move

So your parents decided to move, whether it's to the next town or across the country. You don't know how to handle it. This article will help.

When packing up any fragile items mark the box with the room location and fragile on it. You can save on bubble wrap and such by wrapping any breakable items in towels and putting them in the box that you have your linens, sheets or clothes in.

When packing books put bigger books on bottom and make sure that box is not too heavy to carry. It doesn't matter if the books are in alphabetical order or not, you're just packing them up for the move. Same as when you pack any dvds, videos, or cassettes.

Remember to count your boxes before you remove them from the house and know exactly how many boxes you have. Also double check all the rooms, closets, attic, basement and garage before leaving.

Tips

  • Try to have fun.
  • It's not as bad as you may think.

Warnings

  • Don't whine if you don't want to move. It won't help anything. If your parents have already decided to move, the chances of your changing their minds are extremely slim. Whining will just make them angry.
